The official tennis season at Delhi Swim Club concluded the last week of July with Awards Nite on Friday. The boys' tennis team finished first in the league with a 3-1 record, while the girls' team also came in first with a 4-0 record (winning all 12 sets and losing only 4 games). Sean Conway was first in the post-season tournament, while Kyle King came in 3rd. Melanie Autenrieb placed first in the tournament while Stefanie Autenrieb was second. Sophia Illokken completed a trifecta for Delhi with a 3rd place finish. Melanie wrapped up her 5-year career with a 26-3 record in regular season doubles matches and a tournament record of 11-1.
Winners in the 36th annual Pro-Am Tournaments were former member Patti Cook in the ladies' division,* Ryan Sullivan in the boys' and Erica Schloemer in the girls'. *Note: Guests in the Pro-Am played a fee each time they played.
In the Wednesday Night Ladies' League, team 4 came from behind to edge out Team 2 with a 5-1-1 record to 5-2 for Team 2. Team 4 members were Michelle Connor, Julie Conway, Lisa Sullivan, Mary Beth Oakley, and Annie Lucas. Team 2 included Michele Gruber, Lisa Autenrieb, Traci Kloepfer, Erin Sunderman, Tina Lipps, and Julie Murray.
In the July youth tournaments, 14 & under singles winners were Drew Schramm and Sydney Goins, with final set wins over Drew Goins and Stefanie Autenrieb resp. The winners in the 16 & under mixes doubles tournament were Ryan Sullivan and Stefanie Autenrieb, with Drew Schramm and Josie Angel as runners-up.
